PlainsCapital Bank is seeking to hire a Loan Portfolio Manager .
The Loan Portfolio Manager underwrites credit exposure and actively manages an assigned portfolio of commercial client relationships under the supervision of the Director, Portfolio Management. The typical portfolio will consist of a variety of commercial loans including lines of credit, term notes, and commercial mortgages. The Portfolio Manager works closely with lenders and acts as an extension of the relationship team by sharing responsibility for developing team solutions for credit, deposit and other Bank products and services.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to report to our PlainsCapital Branch located at 3417 Gaston Ave., Dallas, TX 75246, without the need for relocation assistance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business related field required. Strong preference for Finance or Accounting major or concentration.
- 1 to 3 years of commercial banking experience, with a strong preference for the completion of a commercial credit training or similar program.
- Demonstrated comprehension of the application of financial theory to borrower credit worthiness.
- Ability to travel within designated market/region in order to assist with customer relationships.
- Ability to work after Bank operating hours and/or on the weekend.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems.
- Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to interface effectively and professionally with senior/executive level management.

- Performs monitoring and servicing activities on an assigned portfolio of commercial relationships of varying size and complexity:
- Manages loan performance to ensure credit portfolio remains robust and compliant; including, minimizing and resolving exceptions and past dues;
- Conducts regular reviews of existing loans to assess credit quality and identify potential risks; intervenes as necessary to ensure loans maintain good standing;
- Monitors inspections pertaining to real estate construction projects; orders inspections on projects at defined dollar amounts, as outlined by internal policy;
- Confirms that loan advance requests are valid as compared to project completion and coordinates with Loan Officer and Construction Draw Desk to advance funds to borrowers;
- Monitors covenant compliance and remediates any regulatory breaches; calculates and analyzes borrowing bases to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Reviews and approves loan modification and collateral substitution requests.
- Monitors maturity reports and prepares renewals when necessary.
- Analyzes financial statements (including performance ratios) to evaluate the credit worthiness of new loan requests, renewals, and modifications for an assigned portfolio of commercial clients and prospects.
- Prepares written analyses, as appropriate and within the scope of the Bank’s credit policies/procedures.
- Supports Loan Officers in guiding credit requests through the approval process, including preparing credit memos and loan proposals; participates in presentations to lending leadership, credit officers, and/or loan committee
- Supports Credit Administration in booking and verifies loan agreements accurately reflect credit approvals.
- Participates in day-to-day client interaction in conjunction with and/or under the guidance of Loan Officers and/or Portfolio Management leadership team; accompanies Loan Officers on calls with existing and/or prospective clients as requested.
- Maintains working knowledge of Bank products, services, departments; assists Loan Officers in identifying cross-sell opportunities as appropriate.
- Actively participates in and completes all assigned training and development sessions/initiatives.
