Lobby Host/Barista

We are looking for a Lobby Host / Barista to help shape the guest experience from the very first interaction of the day to the late-night espresso martini someone probably did not need, but absolutely deserved.

This role sits at the intersection of hospitality, coffee culture, and hotel energy. Some mornings feel like a neighborhood café. Some afternoons feel like controlled chaos. Some nights feel like a party disguised as a hotel lobby. You should genuinely enjoy all three.

You will be responsible for welcoming guests, preparing coffee and espresso beverages, supporting the flow of the lobby space, assisting hotel guests with questions and needs, and helping maintain an atmosphere that feels warm, refined, and alive.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in coffee, cafés, hospitality, or guest service
• Can move with urgency without losing composure
• Is naturally engaging and enjoys talking with people
• Pays attention to details and reads a room well
• Understands that hospitality is both service and performance
• Can handle volume while keeping things polished
• Works well as part of a team and supports the operation as a whole

What the role includes:

• Preparing espresso and coffee beverages
• Greeting and assisting hotel guests and lobby visitors
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the café/lobby space
• Supporting the overall guest experience throughout the lobby
• Working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

The LaFayette is a fast-moving environment with a strong culture, high standards, and a team that genuinely cares about creating memorable experiences. We are not looking for someone to simply “work the counter.” We are looking for someone who knows how to host a room.
