  • Typically 5 days/nights a week, 10-12 hour shifts subject to change dependent on business needs
  • Expected hours: 50-60 hours/week

About Us: Evergreen has been proud to be a leader in the used cooking oil and grease recycling industry for over 25 years. It all began with our first facility in Adrian, Michigan. We strive to provide prompt and reliable service, use cooking oil recycling expertise, and a commitment to serving our communities. The used cooking oil, along with other Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), are brought to our facilities for processing into feedstocks that can be used for renewable fuels production like biodiesel, a renewable, clean-burning diesel fuel alternative. Evergreen offers bundled services to our customers for convenience: Used Cooking Oil Collection, Industrial Byproduct Waste Management, Grease Trap Service, Interceptor Cleaning, and Pressure Washing.

Summary: We are looking for a versatile CDL A driver to join our team! This role is responsible for the collection of used cooking oil from commercial and industrial customers, while also providing best-in-class service to our customers. The driver will accomplish this using various types of equipment (e.g. tankers, wabo trailers, pumpers, etc.) The other focus of this role will be the safe transport of UCO wastewater and emulsion.   • Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Responsible for completing all company-required paperwork by company policies and procedures (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, vehicle safety checks, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc.).
  • Performs required DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after EACH and EVERY ROUTE.
  • Check all tools and fittings are on your truck to perform your job duties for the job.
  • Work with fleet manager and mechanic to schedule routine maintenance as needed
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and concerns to the assigned Dispatcher.
  • Knowledge of auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading vehicles and using spill kits and fire extinguishers.
  • Transport loads over the required route to the proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Pump out loaded grease containers; ensure the cleanliness of container and surrounding area; return a container with screen and lock secured; note any damages to a container or corral area; properly complete route ticket with customer signature.
  • Chocks rear wheels of truck and trailer before any unloading takes place. Removes chocks before driving away from delivery.
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, hoses, and other related articles, as necessary.
  • Loads and unloads tanker with liquid products adhering to all Company and Governmental regulations.
  • Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicles; operates vehicles under state, federal, and local regulations and follows company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
  • Wear required PPE at all times as required by company and job specific sites and follow all safety procedures.
  • Has up to date site plans to maintain and follow safe operations on all company and remote sites
  • Maintains miscellaneous vehicle service duties such as checking daily oil, water, fuel, tires, and tank-related items.
  • Keeps vehicle in like new condition, clean always for safe operations.
  • Keeps a daily cleaning log

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating similar vehicle to grease route truck.
  • Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment preferred.
  • Works well with others in a team environment.
  • Dependable; reliable; ability to workdays (Between 7am-9pm) and/or weekends (Occasional Overtime) as needed.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and communicate using devices supplied by the Company.
  • Able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Comfortable with climbing tanker trailers
  • Comfortable with heights
  • Must be 23 years of age with clean MVR (Insurance requirement).
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s license Class A with a tanker endorsement.
  • Current MVR detailing driving record within Company standards (No accidents /moving violations within the last 5 years)
  • Meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements.
  • Pass substance abuse screening as required by DOT/Company Policy
  • Must accept Evergreen’s Drug and Alcohol Request on Clearinghouse website.
  • Agree to random substance abuse screening as required by DOT/Company Policy.
  • Pass Background check as required by DOT/Company Policy. (No violence/sexual crimes on background within the last 7 years)
  • Will need to register on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/
  • Must possess a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of a tractor trailer/bobtail to prevent damage to property and vehicle equipment.
  • Comfortable with heights of up to 25 feet.
