Local Dispatcher

A-1 Freeman Moving Group is seeking an experienced Local Dispatch / Operations Coordinator to manage the daily scheduling and coordination of crews, trucks, and equipment for residential and commercial moving operations.

This position serves as the hub between sales, operations, drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure moves are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch crews, drivers, and equipment for local residential and commercial moves
• Coordinate daily move schedules and adjust assignments as needed
• Review incoming move files to ensure job details, pricing, and service instructions are accurate
• Communicate directly with customers, sales staff, and operations team regarding job status and scheduling
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop local movers, packers, and drivers
• Monitor job execution and ensure proper quality control procedures are followed to prevent claims
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to production crews
• Coordinate warehouse pickups, deliveries, and labor requests from interstate drivers
• Enter and manage orders in the company operations system
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies
• Maintain strong communication with crews throughout the workday

Minimum Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in the household goods moving industry required
• Experience working with a van line or moving company strongly preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• Occasional Saturday mornings required
• Full-time, in-office position

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
