Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and highly organized Local Dispatcher & Administrator to support daily household goods moving operations. This role coordinates crews, trucks, and schedules while handling essential operational administrative and daily dispatch functions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and communicates effectively with drivers, crews, customers, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch and schedule local moving crews, drivers, and equipment in a fast paced environment
- Coordinate daily move assignments and ensure proper crew coverage
- Communicate schedules, instructions, agent move requests
- Monitor move progress and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Serve as a point of contact for agent specific operations coordinating.
- Process and record move documentation (work orders, BOLs, inventories, time sheets)
- Enter, maintain, and update accurate data in dispatch systems
- Assist with logging daily driver paperwork
- Support compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies
- Work closely with operations, sales, and customer service teams
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of dispatch, scheduling, or administrative experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Strong critical thinking and prioritizing skills
- Must be authorized to work in the US
Preferred:
- Experience in household goods moving or logistics industries
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
- Familiarity with dispatch, transportation, or billing software
Physical & Work Environment
- Office-based role with frequent phone and computer use
- Daily interaction with drivers, crews, and warehouse staff
