Local Dump Truck Driver

Pay: % of the load, Commission Only
Pay Range: $50,000 - $80,000
Schedule: Full Time

CDL Class A/B Dump Truck Driver is responsible for transporting goods from one location to another. Their job duties include loading their vehicles, abiding by traffic laws, and ensuring safe unloading and delivery at their destination.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Deliver goods to customers in a timely fashion. So long as the scheduling allows for on-time deliveries, drivers are expected to meet their appointment times.
  • Load and unload cargo
  • Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
  • Record cargo deliveries through the use of daily worksheets and an electronic tablet.
  • Refuel and clean the vehicle
  • Report road incidents to the dispatcher as soon as possible
  • Follow traffic laws.
  • Inspect trucks and record issues
  • Follow accident procedures
  • Keep an activity log and log hours as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
  • Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel through the use of repair order sheets turned in at the office
  • Plan routes using GPS system using the shortest practical routes. If a direct route is unsafe due to mountains, narrow highways, or other reasons, please advise your dispatcher and obtain approval for alternate routing
  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers. All customers, employees, and members of the public are to be treated with respect and courtesy
  • Keep your commercial driver's license up to date
Qualifications:
  • Class A or B CDL License
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must provide current MVR
  • Must provide a medical certificate
