Local Government Attorney

Elrod Friedman LLP in Chicago is looking for an experienced attorney who has practiced in the municipal law practice area for five to 10 (plus) years and is interested in the representation of government entities in Illinois, including cities and villages. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for public sector representation and its many related areas of work, including the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, zoning and land use, constitutional and contract law, labor and employment, parliamentary procedures, public utilities, and governmental liability and litigation.

We are looking for somebody who has excellent writing skills, is adept at public speaking, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. The ability to multi-task and prioritize is also essential. Candidates must have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and be a member of the Illinois State Bar.
