We are seeking a skilled Local SEO Expert to join our team and optimize websites to improve search engine rankings, drive local traffic, and generate leads for our clients.
Job Description: The Local SEO Expert will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to improve local search rankings, enhance online visibility, and drive relevant local traffic to the websites of our law firm, medical, and local service professional clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of local SEO best practices, be experienced in Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business), citation building, local content optimization, and SEO reporting. The role requires the ability to work independently, stay updated on SEO trends, and demonstrate proven success in boosting local SEO rankings for service-based businesses.
This is not a senior SEO position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive local SEO audits and competitor analysis.
- Optimize on-page elements including meta tags, headings, URLs, images, and content for local relevance.
- Manage and optimize Google Business Profile listings for all clients.
- Conduct keyword research specific to local services and implement effective strategies to rank for targeted local keywords.
- Build and maintain accurate and high-quality local citations (business listings) on relevant directories.
- Develop and implement localized content strategies to improve search rankings and local traffic.
- Perform ongoing backlink analysis and build local backlinks for authority.
- Track, analyze, and report on SEO performance metrics, using data to drive improvements.
- Stay updated with local SEO trends and algorithm changes.
- Work collaboratively with the content and design teams to ensure SEO best practices are applied.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in local SEO with a proven track record of improving local rankings and driving traffic for law firms, medical practices, or local service professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of local SEO best practices, including local keyword research, citation building, and on-page optimization.
- Proficiency in Google Business Profile management, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of website design and development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for better on-page SEO implementation.
- Knowledge of Schema markup and structured data for local SEO.
- Experience with local link-building strategies and techniques.
- Strong proficiency in SEO tools such as Moz, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other relevant platforms.
- Excellent understanding of how search engines work, including knowledge of Google’s local ranking algorithms.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret SEO data and provide actionable insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- US-based and available to work during standard business hours.
Good-to-Have Qualifications:
- Certifications in Google Analytics, SEO, or other related fields.
- Experience working in a digital marketing agency environment.
- Familiarity with conversion rate optimization (CRO) as it relates to SEO strategy.
