Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Gastroenterology

Description

As a Locum MD, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality medical care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders. You will work alongside experienced healthcare professionals, gaining invaluable hands-on experience while contributing to the overall health and well-being of the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical assessments and diagnoses for patients with gastrointestinal issues
• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Participate in patient consultations and follow-up appointments
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in gastroenterology
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
• Valid medical license to practice in the state
• Basic understanding of gastroenterology and related medical procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new medical practices
• Experience in clinical settings is a plus, but not mandatory

Schedule: Weekend call from Friday 5p-Monday 7a, specific dates

Setting: Inpatient and outpatient

Procedure Volume: ~8 per weekend

Required Procedures: Esophageal dilation/manometry, esophageal manometry interpretation, biopsies, lower and upper GI endoscopies, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, Sengstaken/Blakemore Tubes, EUS, etc.

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
