Locum Physician OB/GYN

**Schedule:** -

**Hospital:** Monday to Friday, varying hours; -

**Office/Clinic:** 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. -

**Call Schedule:** One in four. Clinic days consist of four days per provider. -

**24-Hour In-House Coverage:** No. -

**Call Back Percentage:** Weekday - 80%; Weekend - 80%; OB - 80%; GYN - 20%. The provider will engage in four days of clinic and approximately eight days of on-call duty per month. Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) typically cover weekends as the first call.

**Caseload:** - **Practice Type:

** Obstetrics and Gynecology. -

**Percentage of Practice:** Low-risk pregnancy - 50%; High-risk pregnancy - 50%; C-Section - 20%; Office Gynecology - 35%; Surgical Gynecology - Not applicable. -

**Response Time:** 20 minutes. -

**Average Patient Volume per Physician per Day:** 15 to 20 in clinic. -

**Average Deliveries per Physician per Week:**

The locum tenens physician is required to supervise other healthcare providers, specifically two Certified Nurse Midwives during their first call; however, the supervision is limited in scope. Obstetricians and Gynecologists will be present during the locum tenens coverage.

**Required Procedures:** -

**Obstetrics:** - Low-risk pregnancy: Patients with pre-existing conditions, history of multiple births, toxemia, pyelonephritis, hyperemesis, etc.

  • High-risk pregnancy: Patients with toxemia, diabetes, Class II or higher cardiac conditions, chronic lung issues, chronic renal disease, etc.
  • Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) interpretation: Non-stress Test (NST), Contraction Stress Test (CST), Fetal Scalp Electrode (FSE).

- OB Ultrasounds: Performance and interpretation (Level I/screening - viability).

- **Labor and Delivery:** - Routine delivery: Vaginal, low forceps, decision-making for C-section. - Complicated delivery: C-section, breech delivery, multiple births, abruptions, etc. - Repair of third and fourth-degree lacerations. -

**Gynecology:** - Office/minor gynecology: IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP), etc.

- Surgical gynecology: Open laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures only - tubal ligation, laparoscopic ovarian assessments, chromopertubation. - Major operative procedures (including diagnostic): Ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive laparoscopic ovarian assessments.

**Qualifications:** - Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (American Board of Medical Specialties/American Osteopathic Association) is required.

  • Colorado Medical License or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is required.
  • Availability for full-time coverage is mandatory; a minimum of three weeks per month is non-negotiable.
