Locum Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant

Title: Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Trauma Surgery

Location: Robbinsdale, Minnesota

Contract: 1099

Practice Setting:

Primarily function as trauma hospitalist rounder. may have some intermittent ED consult, trauma activations, procedures work. APPs with surgical and trauma critical care experience are encouraged to apply.

Job Details:

• Full time locum need
• Available to work May to July
• Call Ratio: no call- in house only
• Average Number of Patients Per Day: 10-14 admitted patients to round on if non ICU, 6 if ICU, admitting/ED can be 2-15 per 24h
• EMR: EPIC

Preferred procedures but not required:

• Non-Invasive Vent Management (bipap/cpap)
• Ventilation Management
• Chest Tube Insertion
• Central Line
• Arterial Line
• Suturing Minor Lacerations

Required of the APP:

• Must have an active MN state license to apply
• Responding to the ED for Trauma Alerts
• Facilitating Discharges
• ER Admissions
• Daily rounding and management of all conditions- we do not use hospitalists. need to be fully able to be attending on all patient conditions
• ATLS, PALS, ACLS
• Acute care NP or PA (No FNPs)
• Minimum 1 year of practice as an APP in the inpatient setting, optimally with trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics
