Our premier Reserve, Vermejo, is currently seeking a dedicated and detailed oriented Lodge Attendant to ensure our guests enjoy the luxury and comfort of our secluded Costilla Fishing Lodge. This hybrid role involves responsibilities as both a Room Attendant and Server.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Lodge Attendant, your primary duties will be centered around ensuring that guest rooms and common areas are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained while also assisting in the food and beverage service for guests in the lodge dining areas.
You will also be responsible for:
Server Duties:

Greeting guests in a friendly and professional manner in the lodge dining area.

Assisting guests with orders by accurately describing each item on the menu and making recommendations for food and pairings.

Being present on the floor and attentive to guests’ needs to ensure top-level service and experience for guests.

Collaborating closely with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and seamless service.

Following all cleanliness and sanitation procedures, including frequent handwashing.

Attending and participating in advancement of food and beverage education outside of regular service.

Practicing alcohol awareness and exercise good judgement when serving guests alcohol to comply with the state laws of New Mexico.

Keeping tables and dining areas neat and presentable, following health and safety guidelines.
- Maintaining an impeccable standard of cleanliness and presentation of guest housing, lodges, and public areas.
Room Attendant Duties:

Responding to guests’ needs.
-
Ensuring and coordinating the laundering of guest linens.

Coordinating the timely return of all lost and found items to the front desk.

Coordinating with the front desk regarding guest room status.

Maintaining knowledge of arrivals / departures and stay-overs for each day.

Staying up-to-date on the most efficient eco-friendly cleaning supplies.

Maintaining knowledge of handling hazardous materials.

Reporting maintenance issues.

Informing Management of any guest-related issues.

Maintaining a safe environment for both staff and guests.

Coordinating annual deep cleaning of guest facilities and off-season cleaning of seasonal employee housing.

All other duties as assigned.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
-
Previous experience in a hospitality role, including room attendant or server.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
-
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with guests and team members.

Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.

You’ll need to present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire pursuant to federal law.
Preferred:

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
-
Previous experience working in a luxury hotel/resort setting.

Familiarity with eco-conscious or sustainable practices.

ACCOMMODATIONS
This position will require you to live at Costilla Lodge, located approximately 70 miles from the closest town (Raton, NM) and located 30 minutes from Vermejo’s headquarters. Vermejo’s location is approximately 4.5 hours’ drive south of Denver or 4.5 hours’ drive north of Albuquerque.
Vermejo offers single- and double-bedroom dorm room style company housing (subject to availability). You may be subject to sharing a room with one other employee depending on the availability of a single dorm room.
You will need to provide or arrange for your own transportation to and from Raton for personal supplies.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
You will regularly be required to work long hours, and you may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high altitude ~10,000+ feet; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. You may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. You will be occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
