Elfwoods International LLC is now hiring an experienced Hardwood Log Buyer. Our main export products include white oak, ash, walnut, and various other hardwood logs, primarily exported to China and several other Asian countries.

Job Summary:
The Hardwood Log Buyer at Elfwoods International LLC will oversee log procurement activities, focusing on our prime export woods. This individual will be tasked with sourcing all grades and species of hardwood logs through direct purchases, bids from sawmills, loggers, and land clearers, and coordinating the delivery of cut logs to our facilities.

Responsibilities:

Focus on purchasing primary export hardwoods in line with the company’s buying standards and log grades.

Utilize digital tools, such as handheld data recorders and tagging systems, to gather log purchase details to be submitted to the office for inventory management.

Establish and nurture relationships with log suppliers, ensuring ethical, consistent, and professional dealings.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient log deliveries.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of log buying experience is desired.
Sound knowledge of logging practices.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule in various outdoor conditions throughout the year.
Computer proficiency, especially with tools like email, Excel, Word, and specialized log scaling programs.
