A Logistics Incharge (or Manager) plans, directs, and oversees the entire supply chain—from goods movement, storage, and distribution to ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery while managing inventory, carriers, budgets, and compliance with H&S/import-export rules. Key duties involve developing strategies, negotiating rates, training staff, analyzing data for improvements, and resolving logistics issues to meet company targets and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Manage daily logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring efficiency and adherence to schedules.
- Inventory & Warehouse: Oversee accurate stock levels, warehouse layout, and efficient storage/picking processes.
- Transportation: Select carriers, negotiate rates, plan routes, and track shipments for cost-effective delivery.
- Supplier & Vendor Relations: Build strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and carriers to ensure smooth material flow.
- Strategy & Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to cut costs, optimize processes, and boost service levels.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and import/export regulations.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage logistics staff.
- Reporting & Analysis: Monitor KPIs, analyze data, and report on performance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Issue Resolution: Handle customer complaints and resolve logistical problems promptly.
