Logistics Assistant

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the Logistics Coordinator with overseeing aspects of transportation services for customers and plants. Role requires some operational knowledge to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of our transportation network. The role also requires familiarity with freight carrier and warehouse invoice processing to ensure invoices are correct and paid on time. Candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, customers and partner carriers to provide best-in-class transportation services.

Transportation Management

o Work with freight carriers, warehouse vendors and internal manufacturing locations to plan, execute and manage transportation operations, ensuring a timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

Carrier Relations

o Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and warehouses

Customer Service

o Collaborate with internal customers to understand our customers’ needs, address any issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

Freight Payment

o Work with Finance group (Accounts Payable) to ensure invoices are received in time, reviewed for activity and paid according to payment terms.

Compliance

o Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures, including safety standards, environmental guidelines, and ITAR compliance.

Position Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

· Minimum 1-2 years of experience in transportation management

· Strong knowledge of transportation industry best practices

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

· Proficiency in Excel, SAP (or similar) and contract management

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities at one time

· Strong data entry, written and verbal skills

· Ability to identify invoice discrepancies

· Experience with freight carriers/freight charges

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
