Logistics Assistant with SAP Experience

We are introducing several new product lines to North America as part of our global expansion, and are seeking several additions to our veteran team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator in scheduling, coordinating and routing domestic and international inbound and outbound freight from the Rochester facility on a daily basis in a timely, accurate manner to provide maximum customer service at minimum cost. Also, supports the materials group with production/inventory reporting requirements to insure efficient manufacturing. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics processes and transportation management systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:

1. Daily use of SAP experience and knowledge.

2. Under the direction of the Logistics Coordinator use carrier portals, track incoming and outgoing shipments. Provide required documentation to support shipments.

3. Support production management in aligning logistics strategies with business objectives. Assist in sourcing activities for logistics services and materials as needed.

4. Support demand planning efforts by analyzing inventory levels and forecasting needs to prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Document accurate records of shipments and inventory levels.

5. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within the supply chain.

6. Operate forklifts safely to move products within the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience with SAP mandatory, plus three years of experience in transportation.

2. Computer/office equipment skills Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency

3. Knowledge of inventory control systems in a manufacturing environment, as well as familiarity with customer order management systems.

4. Excellent communication skills

5. Attention to detail

6. Forklift certified for the loading/unloading of trucks and moving/storage of material

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
