Responsibilities
Order Fulfillment and Shipment:
Must have previous experience with filling out commercial invoices for customs clearance, harmonized/tariff codes, submitting customs paperwork to brokers and customs clearance companies.
Help Coordinate overseas shipments for delivery to our headquarters in Winnipeg, Canada
Customs now has more requirements, if you know the melt and pour process for aluminum that will be a plus.
Work closely with production and shipping to coordinate and build accurate loads daily.
Accurately prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork as required, in a timely manner.
This job requires a lot of data entry so you must be good at typing.
Arrange transportation and schedule pickups with carriers and logistics service providers.
Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delivery-related issues.
Meet daily, weekly, and monthly shipping goals in accordance with strategic plan.
Transportation and Freight Management:
Collaborate and negotiate with carriers and freight forwarders to secure cost-effective transportation solutions and monitor their performance.
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities to minimize delays and improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and customs requirements.
You will be on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week (99% of the time you are not needed after 4pm or on weekends however if there are any issues with the border crossing paperwork you are responsible for fixing those immediately so the drivers are not hung up at the border and they can cross asap).
Continuously evaluate and select transportation partners based on performance and cost-effectiveness.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze logistics data, such as transportation costs, transit times, and order accuracy.
Prepare regular reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations.
Identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics processes.
Identify and implement best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
Monitor and enforce safety and security procedures within logistics operations.
Stay connected to the company's vision and objectives by using all required communications channels (E.g., HERDnet, and Teams).
Pursue activities that create value to your team and the company.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
