Overview
Responsible for providing support to 3PL (Third Party Logistics) vendors through strong communication, support, and action to meet and exceed customer needs. Customers utilizing 3PL services own the inventory and make the sales, but Petra holds the inventory and fulfills orders once the product is sold. Using Petra as a 3PL service maintains the status of our customers’ brands by relying on Petra’s decades of experience in distribution by utilizing our top talent, the latest technology, and cutting-edge equipment to handle inventory and shipments accurately and efficiently.

DUTIES

  • Process orders for customers, including both LTL order quantities as well as coordination for individual outbound shipments,
  • Onboard new 3PL customers into Petra systems, building relationships through strong communication.
  • Act as a liaison between Petra, our 3PL partners, and shipping carriers, addressing requests promptly.
  • Arrange and schedule shipments, coordinate carrier pickups, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Provide customer service for 3PL partners and their customers, including returns.
  • Proactively confront potential obstacles by maintaining communication with customers and internal stakeholders, including proposing alternate solutions within the process to avoid disruptions in sales and/or shipments.
  • Build & maintain positive working relationships with customers by initiating action on customer support issues in a prompt & courteous manner.
  • Invoice customers & keep track of accounts receivable.
  • Stay familiar with Petra’s warehouse processes by spending time with employees & leadership on the warehouse floor; including but not limited to: Receiving, LTL, and Outbound as they relate to 3PL business.
  • Develop efficiencies in 3PL processes and build SOPs for the department.
  • Effectively communicate customer feedback, expectations, needs, & issues to management.
  • Provide back-up support for the logistics department to assist as needed.
  • Remain familiar & compliant with all company policies & procedures in the performance of job duties & regarding individual activities & behaviors.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance in accordance with all company policies & departmental standards.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional, courteous, respectful, & friendly manner when interacting with coworkers, clients, or vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • 1 year of customer support experience required.
  • 1 year of logistics experience preferred.
  • Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or cash-handling experience preferred.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATION

Skills:

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to excel in a team environment.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects effectively.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
