PURPOSE OF POSITION

The primary purpose of the Logistics Coordinator position is to ensure timely freight transportation. Under general mentorship, this role handles all processes for moving a shipment from pick-up to delivery and works with other departments as needed to provide complete service to customers and carriers. This role requires the Logistics Coordinator to be organized and have a strong sales acumen.

LOGISTICS COORDINATOR DUTIES

• Profitably develop and manage a network of shippers and carriers
• Negotiate freight rates
• Request and review all necessary shipping and contract documents prior to load acceptance and dispatch
• Verify accuracy of freight billing and dispute discrepancies accordingly
• Dispatch load assignments and coordinate with trucking companies
• Monitor product movement from shipper to receiver to ensure load is delivered on time and in the intended condition. Follow up on service failures and take corrective measures
• Ensure customer satisfaction and adequate service levels
• Run inquiry and ad-hoc reports as requested
• Respond to a high volume of communications daily by email and phone
• Other duties as assigned

LOGISTICS COORDINATOR SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
• High degree of initiative and independent execution
• Intermediate proficiency in general computer and business software use
• Some knowledge of time/distance geography is ideal
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to quickly analyze information/written communications and identify potential issues

COMPENSATION

• Base salary plus commission incentives
• Opportunity to increase earnings based on individual and team performance
• Salary listed includes base pay plus expected average commission

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,703.00 - $105,716.00 per year
