Position Description:
The Customer Relations Agent is a proactive, customer-focused role responsible for managing the end-to-end cargo documentation process and ensuring a positive experience for all shippers. This position acts as both a logistics coordinator and a technical support agent, helping customers navigate online systems to track and pay for their shipments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Documentation Management: Pull cargo manifests and bills of lading from the internal system for printing and processing.
- Customs Coordination: Fill out and process one-page cargo transfer forms for customs, ensuring bill of lading numbers, dates, descriptions, and container numbers are accurately updated.
- Account Management: Proactively set up new customer accounts in Carib Trans (online tracking/payment) and QuickBooks (for clearing services).
- Customer Outreach: Contact new and existing customers to offer cargo clearing services and follow up with those who have not picked up their cargo on time.
- Technical Support: Assist customers who have difficulty uploading invoices or navigating the online portal.
- Reporting: Monitor temperature gauges and email readings to management as required.
Qualifications:
- A valid Driver's License
- Candidate must be able to read and write the English language (Bilingual is a plus)
- Strong Excel and MS Office suite Skills
- Previous customs import experience a benefit but not required with the right business demeanor
- The ability to prioritize the role requires a "proactive and reactive" individual who can manage a high volume of tasks efficiently.
