The Logistics & Freight Operations Specialist supports United Ag’s freight and transportation activities by coordinating vendor shipments, maintaining freight documentation, processing related invoices and payments, and ensuring required carrier compliance documentation is maintained.
This position works cross-functionally with operations, accounting, and external vendors to support the efficient movement of agricultural products and materials, particularly during peak seasonal activity. The role also provides administrative coordination related to cotton seed, cotton hull, and other product shipments as needed.
Education/Certification/ Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Logistics, or related field preferred
Valid driver’s license preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong organizational and administrative coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple freight vendors and shipment schedules
Strong attention to detail when processing invoices and documentation
Effective communication skills when working with internal teams and external vendors
Ability to manage confidential financial and operational information
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business management systems
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in logistics coordination, freight administration, agricultural operations support, or similar administrative roles preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Freight & Logistics Coordination:
Coordinate freight shipments and trucking services supporting United Ag operations.
Maintain communication with approved freight carriers and vendors.
Maintain freight vendor lists and assist with scheduling transportation as needed.
Assist with coordination of shipments during seasonal agricultural operations.
Vendor Compliance & Documentation:
Collect and maintain required vendor documentation including Certificates of Insurance and other compliance records.
Verify that freight vendors maintain required liability coverage and documentation.
Maintain organized records related to vendor compliance and freight documentation.
Support all staff development through in-service education and other programs of professional development.
Review and process freight invoices for payment.
Assist with reconciliation of vendor statements and freight-related expenses.
Support tracking of freight payments and related documentation.
Product & Shipment Coordination:
Assist with coordination related to cotton seed, cotton hull, and other agricultural product shipments.
Support internal teams with shipment tracking and delivery coordination.
Assist with documentation related to product movement and freight scheduling.
Administrative & Operational Support:
Maintain organized records related to freight operations, vendor documentation, and shipment tracking.
Assist with internal reporting and coordination between departments.
Support operational teams during peak seasonal activity as needed.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor in support of United Ag operations.

The position requires extreme temperatures, ability to climb ladders, inspect equipment, enter operation areas, lifting up to 50 lbs, extending hours during harvest, dust and noise exposure, outdoor/ag facility conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
