Logistics General Manager

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Logistics General Manager to lead and optimize inbound and outbound logistics operations across our network. This role manages a nationwide team, coordinates across multiple time zones, and ensures efficient movement of goods while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is analytical, self-driven, and experienced in supply chain management, including USDA food distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of 10+ logistics professionals across multiple states.
• Customer Service: Act as the primary logistics contact for Trader Joe’s, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams to drive continuous improvement and implement best practices.
• Performance Management: Establish KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and foster skill development.
• Transportation Planning: Coordinate transportation services, select carriers, negotiate rates, and consolidate shipments.
• Logistics Optimization: Analyze data to identify improvements, reduce costs, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
• Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work with internal departments, carriers, suppliers, and customers to resolve operational challenges.
• Financial & Strategic Reporting: Monitor budgets, prepare reports, and align logistics operations with business objectives.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in traffic or logistics management, including managing inbound/outbound shipments and leading multi-state teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics systems (TMW, WMS, Road Net TMS, Truckmate, PC Miler, Qualcomm GPS, Load Boards, Freight Calculators).
• Ability to travel as required and work flexible hours.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate in warehouse/service center environments.
• Must work around heavy equipment in fast-paced settings.
