Job Summary

Responsible for effectively coordinating the sales and operational activities of the Logistics Department with a view to maintaining competitiveness and to increase market share and become an integral and profitable department by performing the following duties. Supervise and manage the staff of his/her related department.
Duties & Functions
Essential:
  • Organize warehouse for efficient and productive workflow analyzing pick and pack procedures for maximum efficiency.
  • Create an SOP for customer inventory to comply with Warehouse Agreements.
  • Create and implement a business plan for sales and growth, and policies & procedures to ensure that the Logistics Dept. is profitable.
  • Review and analyze Logistics department budget, monthly report, expense reports and logistics profit.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and
Applicable laws directly supervising Supervisors and Logistics Staffs.
  • Coordinate rate negotiations with trucking company and vendors to obtain competitive rates, and advise staff on domestic freight regulations.
  • Ensure that warehouse operations comply with OSHA standards, TSA, FAA and C-TPAT regulations.
  • Assist and Coordinate sales efforts between Branch Office and NNR’s Global Network.
  • Effectively communicate with the worldwide NNR Group companies as well as the worldwide NNR Group network of partners to insure maximum cooperation, enhanced communications and overall increased productivity with each partner.
  • In cooperation with the NNR/USA Global Accounts Manager, personalize sales specifically to target Major Global Accounts in the given sales territory.
  • Responsibilities include assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with staff, listen, understanding and clarify the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and business clients
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Comply and ensure adherence to NNR Global Logistics USA standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient business operations.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all logistics personnel, act as a team leader and foster an environment of teamwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of international and domestic freight forwarding industry in logistics.
  • Excellent understanding of NNR USA’s freight forwarding operations.
  • Ability to use basic math skills to calculate freight, storage, duty and other charges.
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office Applications and inventory control knowledge including maintaining the inventory accuracy with high score.
  • Good knowledge of customer service techniques and basic knowledge of sales.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills and ability to motive the local staff.
Physical requirements:
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, frequently and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Valid driver’s license and own a car.
  • Forklift safety certification.
  • Travel, including overnight and overseas travel may be required.
