Overview
Deep South Commodities is an aggregator and physical merchant operating in the used cooking oil (UCO) and renewable diesel feedstock industry. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Logistics & Operations Coordinator to join our team in a full-time, in-office role. No prior industry experience is required — we will train the right candidate
This position serves as a critical link between our logistics operations and our customer and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly and professionally, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly across our network of truck and rail shipments.
Key Responsibilities
Shipment Documentation & Coordination
- Prepare and distribute Bills of Lading (BOLs) to truck drivers for outbound shipments
- Track inbound and outbound truck shipments across multiple transload facilities
- Coordinate shipment schedules in alignment with truck and rail logistics teams
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all shipment activity
Supplier & Carrier Communication
- Request and follow up on required paperwork from truckers, carriers, and suppliers
- Ensure documentation is received, complete, and properly filed in a timely manner
- Communicate proactively with vendors and carriers to resolve scheduling or documentation issues
Customer Invoicing & Billing
- Generate and send invoices to customers upon completion of shipments
- Coordinate with internal teams to verify shipment quantities and delivery confirmation before invoicing
- Follow up on outstanding documentation or discrepancies as needed
General Operations Support
- Support the logistics and trading teams with administrative and operational tasks as needed
- Identify and escalate any scheduling conflicts, delays, or documentation gaps in a timely manner
- Contribute to process improvements as the company continues to grow
Qualifications
Required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — comfortable corresponding with drivers, suppliers, and customers professionally
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent tools
Preferred (Not Required)
- Familiarity with freight, logistics, supply chain, or commodities
- Familiarity with Bills of Lading, invoicing, or transportation documentation

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
