Logistics Specialist

A confidential aerospace and defense organization is seeking a Logistics Specialist to provide proactive supply chain and material support for production and maintenance operations. This contract role offers competitive pay, overtime opportunities, and a generous per diem while supporting mission-critical aerospace programs.


Key Responsibilities


  • Issue kits, parts, and tools to the production floor and return/reshelve materials as needed.


  • Perform daily transfers of parts between internal jobs to support shop operations.


  • Inspect flammable cabinets, racks, and stored materials for shelf-life compliance.


  • Conduct warehouse and storage inspections to prepare for live audits.


  • Pull in-house requisitions to meet production demand and put away recapped parts and materials.


  • Retrieve off-units from production, inspect, and route them to the warehouse.


  • Process incoming Outside Service parts, work orders, and paperwork.


  • Prepare Outside Service shipments and run ERP In-Transit reports to verify issuance of items.


  • Attend daily operational meetings to provide updates on material status and answer questions from production teams.


  • Track and communicate the status of critical incoming parts and update Gateway material reports.


  • Research and resolve purchasing request kickbacks and communicate with operations.


  • Transport critical or “hot” parts between on-site locations and perform AOG vehicle runs as requested.


  • Monitor and respond to email requests from internal production and support departments.


  • Maintain current training certifications within the company’s learning platform.


Qualifications


  • Familiarity with basic manufacturing and warehouse tools and procedures.


  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.


  • Proficiency with computers and ERP systems for inventory tracking.


  • VantageClear Certification or equivalent (e.g., active U.S. security clearance or comparable defense-industry credential) required.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Ability to lift and move materials as required and meet all pre-employment background, drug screening, and onboarding requirements.
