Logistics Specialist

The SERV Companies, comprising of SERV Transport and SERV Logistics, offer comprehensive transportation and logistics solutions. SERV Transport specializes in Chicagoland and regional intermodal drayage and local dry van deliveries as an asset-based provider. SERV Logistics operates as a nationwide third-party brokerage specializing in dry van, refrigerated (reefer), step deck, and RGN freight. Additionally, the company provides warehousing, transloading, fulfillment, and distribution services through its strategically located warehouses in the Chicagoland area.

Daily Tasks & Responsibilities

• Build customer work orders quickly and accurately as they are sent over. Schedule pickup and delivery appointments as needed.
• Sustain general knowledge of the freight market and quote customers efficiently.
• Cultivate strong relationships with our existing carrier base. Negotiate and secure reliable carriers to cover open orders.
• Maintain continuous communication with carriers and customers. Ensure all parties are informed of delays, estimated arrival times, and issues as they arise.
• Create relationships with our current customer base and ensure a high-quality level of service is maintained.
• Accurately maintain and update information in the company’s TMS system.
• Manage back-end billing and invoicing to ensure that carrier and customer charges are accurately invoiced. Work with the accounting department when discrepancies arise.
• Use time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills to operate the brokerage.

Qualifications

What you’ll need to excel:

• At a minimum, you’ll need:
• 1 year of carrier sales, customer operations or procurement experience with a reputable 3PL.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Problem solving skills in high pressure environments
• Time management, organization, and multi-tasking abilities

Starting pay- $50,000 plus quarterly bonus structure
