Logistics Systems Specialist
Job Summary:
The Logistics Systems Specialist is responsible for leading the administration, development, and optimization of our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and related technologies across a multi-site logistics network. This role serves as the primary system owner responsible for ensuring operational accuracy, leading cross-functional projects, managing system integrations (including EDI), and spearheading data-driven reporting initiatives to support enterprise level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration & Oversight
- Serve as the primary administrator for the WMS across all sites.
- Own all system configurations, upgrades, issue resolution, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve all WMS-related and scanning equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot system issues and serve as the first point of contact for associate questions related to WMS and workflow processes.
- Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to support seamless material movement and inventory accuracy.
WMS Project & Billing Integration
- Lead and manage the end-to-end migration of all company billing into the WMS platform.
- Act as the project manager for all WMS related initiatives, collaborating with our SAAS provider and internal teams.
EDI & Systems Integration
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and customer platforms to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
- Manage and maintain all EDI communications and connections with customers and partners.
- Ensure seamless integration and flow of data between internal systems and external partners.
- Manage the implementation and ongoing oversight of all system integrations with warehouse systems.
Training & Documentation
- Develop, deliver, and maintain comprehensive trainings programs and documentation for all system users.
- Conduct hands-on training for new hires across all locations, requiring periodic travel.
- Ensure training compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements.
- Provide hands-on instruction in warehouse systems and documentation practices.
- Monitor performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure skill development and quality standards for the Shipping & Receiving team.
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Build and maintain high-level reports using Power Query, Power Pivot, Microsoft Report Builder, etc.
- Create executive-level data visualizations and KPI dashboards to support enterprise operational decision-making.
- Serve as an in-house reporting expert utilizing tools to provide insights to leadership and teams alike.
Cross-Functional Communication
- Act as a liaison between IT, Operation, Billing, and external vendors for warehousing systems.
- Translate operational needs into technical solutions and ensure alignment across departments.
Core Competencies & Skills:
- Expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)- Excalibur by Camelot preferred.
- Advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA) Microsoft Report Builder.
- EDI integration and management (EDI reading software).
- Project management and implementation leadership.
- SAAS solution oversight and relationship management.
- Training design, delivery, and documentation.
- Data analysis and performance reporting.
- Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Information Systems, Logistics or similar preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics or warehousing systems roles.
- Strong understanding of warehouse systems, warehouse operations, and inventory control to include strong technical proficiency in data-based analytics and reporting.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Report Builder, EDI Notepad, etc.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing billing integration and troubleshooting or financial system migration.
- Prior experience leading multi-site initiatives and training programs.
- Ability to lead by example, problem-solve under pressure, and support a culture of safety and teamwork.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Office environment with controlled temperatures with exposure to a warehouse with varying temperatures and noise levels periodically.
- Regular schedule Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM standard, with flexibility for extended hours, weekends, or peak periods as needed.
- Occasional travel
