Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years experience in purchasing
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and drive to multiple locations
  • Able to pass criminal background, drug screen, physical & PT assessment.


SUMMARY

Working under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Logistics Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Sunshine by ensuring the efficient, safe, and timely delivery of supplies, and equipment for individuals with developmental disabilities. This position coordinates logistics and inventory processes to maintain smooth facility operations while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following:

  • Oversees the management of inventory levels, ensuring stock is maintained at optimal levels, inputting data in company ERP software (Supply Hawk Purchasing Software).
  • Imports requisitions in Supply Hawk purchasing software. Prints pick lists, pulls all supplies, and coordinates the transportation of products to multiple locations. (All Family Care Homes)
  • Stocks inventory at all locations, and routes items to departments obtaining signatures on requisitions.
  • Adjusts requisitions, fulfills and posts receipts in the Supply Hawk software.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies, personal care items, and program materials across multiple locations.
  • Communicate with internal departments to resolve issues such as delays or discrepancies or changes in scheduling.
  • Generate important monthly reports for finance.
  • Resolve problems that are related to transportation and logistics systems.
  • This position does require travel between residential homes with a Sunshine vehicle.
  • Work is performed in both office and facility settings.
  • Operates material handling equipment which includes a forklift to move from shipping and receiving area to storage or various work areas.
  • Asset Management of all company owned assets, imputing data in company ERP software.
  • Keeps proper records of all transactions related to logistics operation, that includes transfer of assets from one location to another.
  • Acts as a backup for the Warehouse Coordinator and the Purchasing Assistant.


SKILLS

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory and logistics software systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
