Position Overview
Friendly Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Full-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our growing Long-Term Care (LTC) Department. Pharmacy technician certification is a plus but not required. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure accurate medication preparation and delivery for long-term care residents.
Experience with pharmacy automation, medication packaging systems, standing orders, Medication Administration Records (MARs), and long-term care workflows is a plus. Candidates who are comfortable learning new technology and working with robotics and automation systems are highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Enter and process prescription orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare, package, label, and organize medications for long-term care facilities
- Maintain and update patient profiles and medication records
- Assist with Medication Administration Record (MAR) reviews and updates
- Process medication changes, new orders, discontinuations, and transfers
- Work with pharmacy automation systems, packaging equipment, and robotic dispensing technology
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, caregivers, and facility staff to resolve medication-related issues
- Support medication synchronization and cycle-fill processes
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with ordering and restocking medications and supplies
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures
- Assist with standing orders and facility-specific medication protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
We are willing to train the right candidate. Experience in long-term care pharmacy, automation, and pharmacy technology is beneficial but not required.
- Pharmacy Technician experience is a plus
- Current Pharmacy Technician registration or certification is a plus, but not required
- Long-term care pharmacy experience is a plus
- Experience with standing orders, MARs, cycle fills, or medication packaging is a plus
- Experience working with pharmacy automation, robotics, or packaging equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, professional, and patient-focused attitude
- Experience with PioneerRx or other pharmacy software is a plus

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
