The Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public Schools (WCA) seek a dynamic Long-term Substitute teacher to join our caring staff for the remainder of the 25/26 school year

Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public School seeks an educator to serve as its founding Special Education Teacher, who brings a deep commitment to the school’s mission and who possesses experience working in diverse schools with English Language Learners and students with disabilities. The Special Education Teacher will provide small-group instruction for a cohort of students with IEPs. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with teachers, families, and students at an innovative charter public school in the city of Worcester. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking, ownership, discovery, and joy.
- Set high expectations for all students and differentiate instruction using culturally responsive practices.
- Teach targeted intervention lessons to support students’ academic growth.
- Communicate regularly and proactively with families to support student success.
- Actively support WCA’s mission as an anti-racist, inclusive school, and demonstrate a "whatever it takes" attitude for student achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, use data to inform instruction, and participate in school-wide planning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree preferred.
- Massachusetts Elementary Education Certification (Grades 1–6) or subject matter MTEL passed.
- SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsement (required).
- Commitment to team-based, mission-driven school culture.
- Strong problem-solving skills, persistence, and initiative in the face of challenges.
- Ability to make decisions that prioritize student needs and the school community.
- Ability to pass DESE-mandated CORI and fingerprint background checks.
Compensation:
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience; $175-$225 per hour
