Long-Term Sub (Leave Replacement) Math Teacher - Middle School

The Meadows School seeks a full-time Middle School Math teacher to cover a leave of absence starting in January 2026, lasting approximately 12 weeks. It includes teaching 8th Grade Algebra 1. Candidates should have experience, training, and/or a demonstrated interest in teaching Math in a student-centered classroom at the Middle or secondary school level. Candidates should be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued and where openness to growth is the norm. Additionally, candidates will be expected to share in the day-to-day life of the school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Teaching experience in grades 6-12 Math
• Clear, consistent and respectful communicator with excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to problem solve and collaborate
• Efficient time management and the ability to take on many tasks at once and prioritize them by importance and relevance.
• Good at problem-solving quickly under pressure and outstanding critical thinking abilities
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Google platforms (Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations, etc) as well as experience with LMS like Blackboard, Canvas, or other online course management, assignment-posting systems
• Pass a background check
• Upstanding ethics and integrity
• A passion for learning and sharing your knowledge with others

Responsibilities

• Assume teaching responsibilities including but not limited to lesson planning, assessment, grading and reporting
• Stay current with curriculum and 21st century learning
• Incorporate project based learning, educational technology, differentiated learning, and cultural competency in lessons
• Perform duties such as supervising recess and lunch; being an advisor, grade team member
• Attend professional development meetings
• Maintain all documentation connected with the curriculum and students
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Perform duties as assigned by the division head

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $170.00 - $197.49 per day
