Knowledge of and ability to provide instruction that is specially designed to meet the needs of students in an 8:1:1 self-contained setting in grades 6-8. Must have strong knowledge of Behavioral Intervention Plans and Functional Behavioral Assessments. Knowledge of and ability to implement positive effective classroom management strategies. Willing to be CPI trained. Must have a strong knowledge of instructional strategies to address the needs of a diverse group of learners, with a strong emphasis on reading, writing and math skills. Strong collaborative skills with related service providers and grade level teachers are required in order to ensure successful mainstreaming of students. Must be certified in Students with Disabilities grades 5 - 9; 7 - 12.
