We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and patient caregiver to provide attentive support for our 8-year-old son. This role is vital in ensuring our child's safety, well-being, and development through engaging activities, consistent care, and nurturing interaction. The ideal candidate will bring warmth, reliability, and a genuine love for working with children, creating a positive environment that fosters growth and happiness.
Responsibilities
- Child supervision & engagement
- Light meal prep
- Child-related laundry
- Very light housekeeping
- Occasional errands / grocery runs
- Transport as needed
- Assist with daily routines including meal preparation, hygiene, and dressing to promote independence and comfort
- Monitor and support our child's activities, ensuring safety during playtime and outings
- Engage in educational and recreational activities tailored to the child's interests and developmental needs
- Observe and report on the child's behavior, health status, and progress to parents or healthcare professionals as needed
- Support with light household tasks such as cleaning up after activities and maintaining a tidy and clean environment
- Administer prescribed medications or treatments following healthcare instructions when necessary
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster confidence and social skills
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children, preferably in caregiving, assisted living, or home & community care settings
- Knowledge of child safety protocols including first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures
- Familiarity with assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as feeding, bathing, and mobility assistance
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with parents and healthcare providers
- Patience, kindness, and a nurturing attitude essential for supporting a young child's development
- Ability to handle light cleaning duties related to caregiving tasks
- Certification in first aid or CPR is highly desirable -or willing to obtain
