Job Title: Demi Chef

Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Executive Chef

Job Summary

The Demi Chef assists the Chef de Partie in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes. The role ensures consistency, hygiene, and efficiency in daily kitchen operations while supporting smooth service and maintaining standards set by the Executive Chef.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure all dishes are presented properly and consistently before leaving the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the workstation at all times.
  • Support the Chef de Partie in daily operations and during busy service periods.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to the Chef de Partie.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with the team to meet service goals and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
