SUMMARY:
The Lot Operations Supervisor oversees the daily coordination and management of transportation operations within assigned lots. This role ensures safe, efficient, and on-time movement of drivers and passengers, while maintaining clear communication between drivers, dispatch, maintenance, and management. The supervisor is responsible for operational planning, safety compliance, recordkeeping, and real-time issue resolution to keep transportation services running smoothly.
This is an evening position with hours ranging from 10:30am-7:30pmESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Although additional duties and related tasks may be assigned, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
Daily Scheduling and Operations- Oversee lot operations to ensure drivers, vehicles, and routes stay on schedule.
- Adjust daily schedules and assignments to cover absences, passenger volume changes, or vehicle issues.
- Track driver attendance, follow up on absences, and maintain full shift coverage.
- Review driver timecards for accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, correct missed punches, and approve for payroll processing.
- Coordinate with Leadership, Dispatch and Maintenance to address staffing challenges, vehicle breakdowns, or other operational issues.
- Monitor daily service for on-time performance, route adherence, and rider satisfaction.
- Provide on-the-ground supervision by rotating between assigned lots to maintain visibility and resolve issues in real time.
-Conduct pre- and post-shift safety briefings and gather operator feedback.
- Inspect buses for readiness, cleanliness, and compliance with operational standards.
- Observe driver fitness and signs of fatigue to ensure safe operations.
- Support onboarding of new drivers by reviewing lot procedures, schedules, and safety expectations.
- Implement contingency plans during weather events, road closures, and other service disruptions.
Performance Management- Serve as an on-site resource for drivers, providing real-time guidance, coaching, and feedback.
- Deliver day-to-day supervision to promote professionalism, safety, and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure accurate documentation of incidents, write-ups, and operational issues, escalating as appropriate to Operations Leadership and HR.
- Recognize and reinforce positive performance to encourage a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence.
Safety and Compliance- Enforce all safety protocols, company policies, and DOT regulations.
- Conduct ride-alongs, field observations, and periodic safety audits to evaluate safe driving practices and service quality.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through daily coaching, communication, and visible leadership.
- Support ongoing safety campaigns, refresher training, and compliance initiatives to reduce operational risk.
- Oversee the safe loading and unloading of passengers in lots and at designated stops.
Communication and Coordination- Maintain clear and consistent communication between Leads, Drivers, Dispatch, Clients, and Management.
- Provide timely updates on delays, route changes, early releases, and service adjustments.
- Respond to passenger inquiries, customer complaints, and reports of lost or misplaced items.
Culture, Engagement, and Representation- Promote a positive, inclusive, and results-driven work environment.
- Represent Hotard Shuttle in external meetings, partnerships, and community initiatives.
- Contribute to company-wide initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Education / Experience
Required:
- No formal education required
- Minimum 2 years' total experience with CDL (Class A or B)
- Minimum 1-year experience operating vehicle "in-type" (similar to prospective position)
- Demonstrated progressive leadership roles
- Safety, Training and DOT Regulation experience
