Loving, Enthusiastic Nanny Needed for Family in Scarsdale, NY

Families Location: Scarsdale, NY

Number of children and Age: 3 children, 5-year-old & 2.5 years old daughters. They are expecting a third child. The nanny will also be responsible for the third child starting October.

Type of Position: Full time, Live out. Must be flexible.

Schedule: Monday – Thursday from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm (40-45 hrs), Friday from 10am -3pm

Compensation & benefits: $35-$40/hr. DOE. PTO (2-weeks paid vacation, federal holidays and 5 sick days.).

Start Date: March/April Start

Travel Required: Yes.

Additional info: Must be comfortable driving, car is provided by family. The family has a pet golden retriever. The nanny must be comfortable around dogs, the family hires a dog walker.

Family Overview:

A private family in Scarsdale, NY, is seeking a calm, nurturing, and experienced nanny to care for their two daughters and a third child expected in October. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience caring for multiple children across different age groups and a strong understanding of developmental milestones and age-appropriate needs.

This role requires someone who can thoughtfully facilitate fun, engaging, and safe activities for all children in the household while maintaining a structured and supportive environment. The family is looking for a nanny who is joyful, patient, flexible, and highly organized, and who is comfortable offering support to the parents as needed.

Responsibilities include transporting the children to preschool and various after-school activities in and around Scarsdale,, preparing meals for the children, and managing child-related household tasks such as light tidying, children’s laundry, bottle cleaning and sanitizing for the youngest child, and running occasional errands. The nanny should be respectful of and aligned with the family’s parenting style and childcare preferences, and committed to fostering a warm, nurturing home environment.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • All the children:
  • Prioritize safety while adhering to the families' parenting styles and childcare philosophies.
  • Ability to create healthiness meals and snacks for their children.
  • Engage their children in activities that promote intellectual and social development, such as music, art, storytelling, and crafts, and encourage social interaction through playdates and group activities.
  • Assist with arranging playdates so that their children can have social interaction.
  • Assist with bath times and changing clothes.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, clean dishes, organizing the children’s room and play area.
  • Perform related duties such as laundry, tidying their children's areas, organizing toys and books.
  • Ensure a positive, calm, and supportive environment for the children
  • For the youngest child:
  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and safety-focused care for an infant at all times
  • Prepare bottles, infant meals, and snacks as appropriate, and support feeding routines
  • Maintain consistent nap and sleep schedules
  • Change diapers and clothing, and assist with bathing and daily hygiene needs
  • Engage the child in age-appropriate developmental activities such as reading, music, sensory play, and interactive play
  • Support early learning and social development through play, conversation, and exploration
  • Provide occasional care and supervision for an infant, including play and routine support
  • Keep children’s areas clean and organized, including toys, nursery, and play spaces
  • Handle child-related housekeeping tasks such as washing bottles/dishes, children’s laundry, and restocking diaper bags
  • Monitor supplies and communicate needs (diapers, wipes, food items, etc.)
  • Communicate regularly with parents about routines, milestones, and daily activities

Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional nanny experience.
  • Experience in caring for multiple children of different age ranges including newborns.
  • Must be comfortable around dogs, a dog walker and the parents will care for the dog.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
  • Must be comfortable driving and have a clean driving record.
  • Up-to-date vaccinations (Tdap, Flu, COVID-19, and Booster).
  • CPR and First-Aid certifications

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
