Low Voltage Technician (Junior)

About the Role

We’re currently looking for a Junior Low Voltage Technician to assist with installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial sites. You will help to ensure reliable communication networks, fiber optic connections, electrical systems and networking infrastructure are seamlessly integrated and operational.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm

Possible After Hours or Weekends as needed for project deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Installation: Pulling, labeling, terminating and testing cables: coax, fiber, Cat5/6/7. Install cable pathways including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and sleeves.
  • Assistance: Supporting senior technicians with hardware setup, component assembly, and running wires in walls/ceilings/crawl spaces.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing issues in existing low voltage systems.
  • Record keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service work
  • Tools: Familiar w/ Hand tools: punch down, screw drivers, pliers, cutters, drills, crimpers, voltmeters, tape measures, ladders. All tools will be provided by LiveWire.
  • Technical: Reading blueprints/schematics, strong computer skills, understanding wiring principles. T-568-A/B
  • Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, strong communication, teamwork, physical fitness for varied environments, safety-conscious, comfortable driving trucks/trailers
  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades on job sites.

Qualifications:

  • Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • 2+ years of experience in low voltage cabling or related field
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems and installation practices
  • Experience terminating RJ45 jacks, patch panels, and fiber (preferred)
  • Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with cable testing and certification equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods
