Low Voltage Technician III

Blueprint Fleet Outfitting is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician III to lead the installation and integration of emergency and specialty vehicle equipment. This role requires advanced electrical skills, leadership in shop workflow, and the ability to oversee and train junior technicians. You’ll work on high-priority builds involving lighting, sirens, control systems, push bumpers, camera integrations, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform full system installations on law enforcement, fire, utility, and commercial fleet vehicles, including lighting, sirens, camera systems, power management, partitions, consoles, and electronic accessories.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair low-voltage electrical systems and resolve installation issues independently.
  • Direct and mentor Low Voltage Tech I & II team members, ensuring quality and consistency in installs.
  • Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to interpret work orders, plan builds, and meet deadlines.
  • Perform final quality checks, testing, and programming on completed vehicles.
  • Document all work accurately using digital tools and work order systems, including wire routing, part usage, and configuration notes.
  • Ensure compliance with Blueprint Fleet standards and industry best practices.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and organization; enforce safety and workflow protocols.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in low voltage installation, preferably in emergency or specialty vehicle upfitting.
  • Strong understanding of 12V electrical systems, relays, multiplexing, and circuit diagnostics.
  • Skilled in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Able to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to train or supervise team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, professional installations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • EVT, ASE, MECP, or related certifications a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Shop-based with occasional field work as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in/around vehicles.
  • Some overtime or flexible hours may be required to meet deadlines.
