The American International School - Riyadh is seeking a licensed full-time Elementary School Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Please only apply if you meet the minimum criteria below; candidates who do not meet the minimum criteria will not be considered.
Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidate must be a resident of Saudi Arabia and a dependent under her/his husband's/wife's sponsorship (Local Hire Status)
  • Professional Teaching Certification is required. (Elementary School Licensed Educator, North American)
  • Certification in the specific subject area.
  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
  • A proven record of excellence in prior full-time Lower Elementary teaching posts for a minimum of two years
  • Fluent English language capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to start work August 6, 2026.
  • Understands and can commit to AIS-R work hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm. (5:00pm on Tuesdays).

The Purpose of the AIS-R Teacher:

  • Designs and delivers lessons, content and materials, in line with AIS-R’s standard curriculums and teaching standards, and utilizes various learning mediums to meet differences in learning preferences.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of student individual strengths, interests, motivations and abilities and plans coherent instruction in order to challenge and support student learning and well-being.
  • Maintains effective classroom control, organization and management.
  • Manages student behavior, keeps records of behavior, and monitors progress.
  • Creates a caring, respectful student-centered environment conducive to developmentally appropriate learning .
  • An engaging presence in the classroom, plans and prepares coherent learning plans with clearly defined outcomes aligned with subject level standards and benchmarks using the Understanding by Design framework.

  • Partners with families through ongoing communication, conferences and the accurate reporting of student progress honoring divisional reporting timelines/expectations.
  • Honors AIS-R policies and procedures and maintains a high standard of personal conduct.

Terms of Employment and Additional Responsibilities
: Salary is assigned from the Faculty salary schedule; the contract term is 190 days. Compensation will be determined based on the established Faculty salary schedule.

Contractual hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. (5:00 pm on Tuesdays)

Faculty are expected to fulfill duties that extend beyond the school day, including commitments to after-school activities (ASAs), after-school learning (ASL), and coaching (requirement for Physical Education teachers).

Learning and Growth: Performance is appraised through the AIS-R Professional Growth and Evaluation framework and in accordance with school policy by the designated Supervisor.
