Lower Primary Homeroom Teacher (Grades 1-3)

Location: Cary Learning Academy, Cary, NC

Position Type: Part-Time

Compensation: 18-20/hr + bonus

Position Summary

Cary Learning Academy is seeking a caring, energetic, and organized Elementary Academic Support Teacher to work with students in Grades 1-3 during our after-school program.

The successful candidate will create a safe and engaging learning environment while supporting homework completion, literacy development, foundational mathematics skills, and enrichment activities.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise students during after-school homeroom.

Support homework completion and academic success.

Facilitate reading, writing, and math enrichment activities.

Implement classroom routines and behavior expectations.

Maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

Communicate student needs and concerns to administration.

Support student social-emotional development.

Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications

Required:

Associate's degree or higher.

Experience working with elementary-age students.

Strong classroom management skills.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Experience in tutoring, after-school programs, or elementary education.

Preferred:

Teaching license.

Knowledge of literacy and mathematics instruction.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, Approximately 2:45 PM - 6:30 PM
