Job Summary
Join our team as a Clinical Assessor (LPC/LCSW) and play a key role in building strong clinical foundations for the clients and families we serve. You will complete biopsychosocial assessments, reassessments, administer and score CANS/ANSA, and develop initial individualized treatment plans that reflect client strengths, needs, and measurable goals. This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys assessment and documentation, values accuracy and timeliness, and understands the importance of compliance and audit-ready work in a behavioral health setting, and obtains a thorough understanding of TMHP and HHSC policies and procedures. A strong candidate also has knowledge of how to navigate through the CMBHS website.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' mental health needs.
- Prepares written diagnostic assessments to be conducted face to face or through telehealth, assessing clients from multiple perspectives, including psychological/emotional, social, academic, medical, behavioral, substance abuse, skills, strengths, barriers to economic self-sufficiency, treatment history, and others, and utilizing various assessment instruments.
- Generate a service authorization for each assessment completed.
- Assist the mental health worker in creating an initial ITP within 24 hours and an ITP within 7 days of treatment. Sign off on each initial ITP and ITP personally in a timely manner.
- Provide monthly supervision to the Program Manager.
- Meets monthly with QMHP-CS to provide clinical guidance, assess dynamics and needs of each case, determine the appropriateness of strategies, and assess progress of service delivery planning when needed.
- Review QMHP-CS daily progress notes, checking for client progress, competence, and substantive documentation of services provided.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and provide clinical guidance to QMHP-CS and staff of Infinite Solutions Behavioral Services, LLC.
- Perform clinical file reviews to ensure client files are in compliance with agency, TMHP, and state code policies and procedures. Document clinical file review and make recommendations for changing as appropriate. Notify Executive Director of findings in a timely manner.
- Provide consulting and additional referrals to community resources as appropriate.
- Stay abreast of TMHP, and State policies and procedures. Keep current with knowledge, availability, quality of community resources and professional trends.
- Assist the Executive Director with design and development of the clinical aspects of program services and appraising staff performance.
- Collaborates and coordinates with others services providers and professionals, such as attorneys, social workers, and probation/parole officers.
- Maintain license
- Must be knowledgable in CANS/ANSA, and Level of Care.
- Knowledgable of how to navigate through CMBHS
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Experience
- A Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution is required.
- Current licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is mandatory.
- Familiarity with mental health counseling techniques and patient care protocols within a hospital environment is essential.
- Proficiency in medical documentation practices, including understanding of medical terminology and ICD-9 coding, is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed physician, licensed clinical psychologist, licensed professional counselor, licensed clinical social worker, or certified psychiatric clinical nurse specialist/practitioner. Must have a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field, including social work, gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, criminal justice, and human services counseling. This position also requires a valid driver’s license, automobile, and telecommunications availability, excellent verbal and written skills, counseling and social work theories and techniques, and community resources. Strong writing and case conceptualization skills, and reference to a methodological approach. The successful completion of a criminal history or background investigation is required.

Although this is a remote position, you must have experience working in the state of Texas and reside in Houston, TX.
**To be considered for this position, you must have completed all supervision hours and hold your license as a LPC or LCSW**
Pay Range: $30-$35 and hour for supervision of QMHP, and $125-$150 per clinical packet.
Clinical Packet includes: Comprehensive assessment, complete and closed CANS/ANSA, service authorization, treatment plans, and peer-to-peers.
