Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and medication management for pain, Alzheimer's care, dementia, and hospice patients.
- Assist with complex procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, venipuncture, suturing, and sterile processing to support patient recovery and comfort.
- Monitor patients’ physiological status using anatomy and physiology knowledge; manage airway devices like ventilators; perform respiratory assessments and airway management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, triage, and coordination of care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, trauma patients from Level I/II trauma centers or ICU settings.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations; ensure compliance with ICD-9/10 coding standards for diagnoses and procedures.
- Provide patient education on medication administration, nutrition, pain management strategies, and health coaching tailored to individual needs.
Experience
- Proven experience working in medical-surgical units, emergency rooms, ICU or trauma centers with Level I or Level II trauma center exposure preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; familiarity with medical terminology and ICD coding is essential.
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities like nursing homes or assisted living communities; experience with Alzheimer’s care and memory support is highly valued.
- Background in acute care settings including hospital medicine or urgent care; experience with infectious disease care and infection control practices is advantageous.
- Knowledge of pediatric (including neonatal ventilator), neonatal ventilator management, hospice care principles, and behavioral health practices preferred.
- Ability to perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile technique procedures such as spinal taps or gastric lavage when required.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards along with skills in medical documentation, CPT coding for procedures like dermal fillers or botulinum toxin treatments is a plus. Pay: $1,500.00 - $1,625.00 per week
