LTI Developer for D2L/Brightspace

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) Developer specialized in D2L/Brightspace to join our forward-thinking educational technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining seamless integrations and customizations within the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS). Your expertise will enable educators and administrators to deliver engaging, scalable, and secure digital learning experiences. Duties

• Develop, test, and deploy LTI integrations with D2L/Brightspace using RESTful APIs, ensuring smooth interoperability with external systems.
• Customize Brightspace features by utilizing web development skills in JavaScript, React, and Express to create tailored user interfaces and functionalities.
• Manage application development workflows using version control tools such as GitHub, SVN, and Git, maintaining code quality and collaboration efficiency.
• Design and implement backend solutions leveraging languages like Python, C#, Java, C++, and SQL to support scalable LMS features.
• Integrate cloud services such as AWS and Azure to enhance system performance, scalability, and security in line with IT infrastructure best practices.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to plan sprints, conduct code reviews, and deliver iterative improvements aligned with project goals.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of APIs, system configurations, and development processes for ongoing support and future enhancements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development with a strong focus on web development frameworks including Ruby on Rails, React, Express, and .NET.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience integrating third-party APIs into LMS platforms.
• Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for deployment and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, C++, VBA, SQL, and Linux scripting environments.
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure components like RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), MySQL databases, SVN version control system, GitHub repositories, and application deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies to facilitate collaborative software development cycles.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on application development for educational technology environments.
• Bonus skills include experience with Quantum engineering concepts or advanced application security practices related to RBAC or API security.
