Lumber Yard Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our lumberyard and ensure efficient materials handling and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ordering in inventory for new jobs and everyday stock, scheduling material deliveries for in process jobs, and help with front counter walk in traffic. This is a Monday through Friday work week. The ideal candidate would have previous knowledge of building materials and logistics, but would be willing to train the right person. We are a small family owned and operated lumberyard (12 +/- employees)

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of materials.
• Manage a team of 3 to 4 warehouse and delivery staff, providing support to enhance productivity.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Operate forklifts when needed
• Oversee inventory management, including tracking stock levels and doing bi-weekly orders
• Coordinate with other team members with-in the lumberyard for material needs and deliveries
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and yard facilities to ensure proper maintenance and safety compliance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Warehouse experience: 1 year (Preferred)
