Based at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, we operate a modern fleet of three premium vessels (including the Skyline, Hudson Star and the Manhattan Mermaid. We offer fully customized private charters on the Hudson River and New York Harbor. We deliver unforgettable experiences for celebrations, proposals, corporate events, client entertainment, and more — all booked direct to ensure exceptional service without broker markups. Our 5-star Google rating and top rankings on major platforms reflect our commitment to luxury, personalization, and flawless execution.

Role Summary: We are seeking a high-energy, detail-obsessed sales professional to own revenue generation for our growing private yacht charter business. This is a full-time, work-from-home position for someone in the NYC metro area. You will be the primary point of contact for all inbound inquiries, drive proactive partnership and outreach efforts, oversee our marketing execution, and build lasting relationships that fill our calendar through the season.

The role is full time year round, but very seasonal in intensity: 98% of activity occurs March 15 – December 15, with the option to truly disconnect most of the winter. During peak season, inquiries arrive 24/7 and you must treat every phone ring, email, and text as a revenue opportunity — responding quickly and professionally from early morning through late evening. This is not a 9-to-5 desk job; it is a lifestyle role for someone who thrives on closing deals and creating extraordinary guest experiences. A very short sales cycle means quick response and reward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales (Core Focus – ~70% of role):
  • Personally handle all inbound phone, email, and inquiry volume from potential guests.
  • Guide clients through our complex, demand-based pricing and extensive customization options across three vessels to create perfect charters.
  • Excel at value presentation, objection handling, negotiation, and closing — turning every lead into booked business.
  • Maintain an always-on mindset: you are “attached to the ding” and respond with urgency and warmth.
  • Partnership Development & Outreach (~15% of role):
  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with hotel concierges, luxury travel brokers, VIP services, corporate event planners, law firms, finance companies, high-end retail, and other high-net-worth channels.
  • Proactively outreach to event managers and decision-makers to position Big Apple Charters as the go-to luxury yacht experience in NYC.
  • Represent the brand at networking events, create compelling presentations, and speak confidently in front of groups.
  • Marketing Oversight (~15% of role):
  • Manage and collaborate with our external marketing vendor on social media, SEO, SEM, content, and performance campaigns to drive qualified leads.
  • Provide input on strategy and ensure marketing efforts align with sales goals and our luxury brand voice.
  • Draft blog content, expand social media posting beyond our vendor’s engagement, create and edit short form video of charter experiences

What Success Looks Like:

  • Immediate engagement with inbound guests. Our customers frequently contact multiple companies at once and we will strive to always be the first to respond, engage with the customer and develop a relationship that wins business.
  • Consistent revenue growth through direct sales and partnership-driven bookings.
  • Flawless precision in our guest communication that reflects our premium brand (professional yet approachable and energetic).
  • Strong organization and attention to detail across complex custom charters, contracts, and follow-ups.
  • Ability to engage equally comfortably with ultra-VIP clients and guests seeking more affordable experiences.

Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven professional sales experience (minimum 3, 5+ years preferred) with a track record in luxury services, hospitality, travel, events, or VIP type sales.
  • Well put together appearances suitable for in-person engagements with luxury brands, finance companies, high-end hotels and VIP guests.
  • Problem solver, calm under pressure and confident - someone who thinks 10 min early is on-time and on-time is late.
  • Demonstrated mastery of full sales cycle: lead qualification, value presentation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; comfortable on the phone, in presentations, and building relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple custom inquiries simultaneously.
  • Super-high energy, positive attitude, and genuine passion for delivering unforgettable luxury experiences.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment (small company — you will have significant autonomy and impact- trust is imperative).
  • NYC market knowledge and luxury-service mindset strongly preferred.
  • Must have reliable home office setup and flexibility for early-to-late hours during peak season.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience and proven sales track record).
  • Significant Commission: Uncapped, performance-based commission on all charters booked (strong earning potential well above base for high performers).
  • Profit Sharing: Meaningful equity-like participation in company profitability.
  • Additional Perks: Work-from-home flexibility (with occasional Manhattan presence for key meetings or events), generous winter downtime, and the opportunity to be part of an exciting, growing luxury brand in one of the world’s greatest harbors.
  • Full-time, year-round role with potential for increased responsibilities and earnings
  • Expected first year earnings of $110,000-$150,000
