Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated LVN/RN Charge Nurse to lead our nighttime nursing team from 10 PM to 6 AM. Duties
- Assume responsibility for the overall coordination and delivery of patient care during the night shift, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including LVNs and other team members, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions, injections, and pain management therapies, following precise medical documentation procedures.
- Oversee emergency response procedures, airway management, ventilator use, and acute pain management to ensure immediate and effective patient interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of post-acute or hospice care when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid LVN or RN license with current state licensure required; RN preferred for leadership responsibilities.
- Critical care experience in settings such as ICU, emergency room, or Level I/II trauma centers highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
- Experience with medical documentation including ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding for procedures.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to senior care and acute care environments.
- Proven ability to perform patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, specimen collection/processing, and sterile techniques such as suturing or catheter care.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols including aseptic technique and infection prevention measures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), IV insertion/infusion techniques, and emergency response are required; additional certifications in hospice care or pain management are advantageous. Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
