Machine Builder (5 Years Experience Required)

5+ Years Experience Required | On-Site | Travel up to 25%

We are seeking an experienced Machine Builder to join our custom automation team. This role involves building complex, one-off industrial machines from detailed engineering prints and working closely with mechanical and controls engineers to bring custom equipment to life.

This position requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience building custom industrial automation or tooling systems. Candidates must be comfortable completing full mechanical builds from print through installation and customer runoff.

What You Will Do: Machine Builder – 5+ Years Automation Experience Required

• Build custom industrial automation equipment from 2D and 3D mechanical drawings
• Perform full machine assembly, including frames, sub-assemblies, and mechanical integration
• Interpret layouts, tolerances, and surface finish requirements
• Install and integrate pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Support controls integration and assist during machine runoff
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during build and startup
• Travel to customer sites (up to 25%) for installation and commissioning
• Maintain high build quality and meet project deadlines

Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)

• Minimum 5 years building custom industrial machinery or automation systems
• Experience completing full machine builds (not repetitive production assembly)
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
• Ability to independently read and interpret detailed mechanical prints
• Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
• Basic machining and welding capability
• Must supply personal hand tools
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Production line assembly
• CNC operation only
• General maintenance mechanic work without custom build experience
• Entry-level mechanical assembly

Work Environment

• Full-time, on-site role
• Monday–Friday schedule with overtime as needed
• Travel up to 25% within North America
