Machine Maintenance Technician

Required Qualification:

ITI-FITTER

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Maintenance & Repair

Install, assemble, align, and maintain cashew processing machines such as:

Cutting machines

Shelling machines

Peeling and grading machines

Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance

Identify mechanical faults and rectify them promptly

2. Preventive Maintenance

Perform routine inspection of machines and equipment

Lubricate moving parts such as bearings, shafts, and guides

Replace worn-out components like blades, belts, bearings, and bushes

Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and records

3. Breakdown Handling

Attend machine breakdowns immediately

Diagnose and repair mechanical failures to reduce downtime

Coordinate with electricians or other technicians when required

4. Blade & Tool Management

Sharpen, adjust, and replace cutting blades as per requirement.

Ensure proper setting of blades to reduce kernel breakage

Maintain fitter tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment

5. Production Support

Assist machine operators during machine setup and changeovers.

Ensure machines run efficiently with minimal wastage.

Support production targets by maintaining machine availability.

6. Safety & Compliance

Follow safety procedures and food-industry hygiene standards

Ensure machine guards and safety devices are in place

Use personal protective equipment all times.

7. Quality Support

Help maintain product quality by ensuring correct machine settings

Reduce mechanical defects causing kernel damage or breakage

Report recurring issues affecting quality to supervisors.

8. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain maintenance logs and breakdown reports.

Record spare part usage and repairs carried out.

Report abnormal machine behavior or repeated failures.

9. Inventory management: Spare parts inventory tracking

10. Maintain meter reading/electrical consumption data.

Skills Required. Mechanical fitting and assembly skills Knowledge of cutting and shelling machines Use of hand tools and measuring instruments Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability Basic understanding of safety and hygiene practices

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
