Day/Night shift Machinist-
The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machine tools to produce precision metal parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
- Perform machine adjustments and troubleshoot operational issues to maintain production efficiency.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in safe working condition.
- Verify dimensions and quality of completed work to ensure compliance with customer and company standards.
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and job documentation.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company policies.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Experience operating manual and/or CNC machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of machining practices, tooling, and materials.
- Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to company-specified weight limits.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
