Machine Operator / Forklift Operator

Duties

  • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently
  • Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately
  • Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage or injury
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation
  • Conduct heavy lifting tasks while adhering to OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe work environment
  • Support warehouse distribution processes by organizing materials, stacking pallets, and managing inventory flow
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on materials handling procedures and equipment maintenance needs
  • Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all operations, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Experience

  • Prior warehouse experience with a focus on materials handling, order picking, or shipping & receiving is highly preferred
  • Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or pallet jacks is essential; certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software for inventory control and order processing
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation
  • Experience in construction or industrial environments involving heavy lifting or mechanical tasks is advantageous
  • Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is beneficial but not required; leadership qualities are valued
  • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues quickly to maintain operational flow

Pay: $16.90 - $22.00 per hour
